Jerry Ferris has over 35 years of experience in risk management, with hands on experience in corporate program design and procurement, claims management, and alternative dispute resolution. He is the President and Principal Consultant at Ferris Risk Solutions, LLC, and independent risk management consulting firm focused on assisting corporate risk and claims managers reduce their total cost of risk. Services include the insurance, claims management, and RMIS program design and implementation; claims review, assessment, litigation management, and negotiation; and mediation facilitation and representation. Recently, he joined Hanover Stone Partners, LLC as a Senior Risk Advisor.

Jerry was most recently Director, Risk Management at Petco Animal Supplies, Inc., a $4.4 billion specialty retailer where he was responsible for the corporate insurance and claims management programs. Prior to Petco, Jerry served as Vice President - Risk Management at Kinetic Concepts, Inc. (now Acelity LP, Inc.) a $2.3 billion medical device manufacturer and marketer from 2002-2012. He also served 12 years as Vice President - Risk Management at Luby's Inc., a regional restaurant company. Additionally, Jerry has served in various risk, safety, and claims management positions with McGriff, Seibels & Williams, Kentucky Fried Chicken, The Hartford, and Liberty Mutual.

Jerry earned his bachelor's degree from Texas State University with a major in math and minor in chemistry. He has earned his Associate in Risk Management designation and completed mediator training at the University of Texas - Austin. He has been an active member of RIMS, having served several officer positions in the South Texas chapter of RIMS. Jerry is a member of the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance, serving on the Retail, Restaurant & Hospitality Committee and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee.
